This was a very prestigious graduate school at the time and his family were very proud of him. He may have been the first of his family to go to college. Mercer died tragically from a fall on 6 May 1965.

Gary was immunised on August 9-48 and on Sept 6th 1948.

Cyril's birth entry is for Stoke T. 6b/380 in 1928. Cyril was named after his mother's brother; his surname of Clay was subsequently changed to Beardmore. Cyril died in 1949 at just 20 in Edmonton (5e/212).
Cyril was employed as a commy-chef in a large restaurant and rose to Chef de Rang at nineteen years old.

Donald's brother wrote the following:
"Donald was the feisty one, always ready for a heated discussion. A genius wasted, an artist of great quality, a sculpter without having to try, but lazy as hell! He could sell sand to the Arabs and lived by his sporadic salesmanship... and his wife's continual employment! He, at 53, seemed to have found his niche with his brother Philip in the south of France, but it was too late [as] cancer had taken hold and he died in Pen-y-groes in the new year. He and his family had followed his parents to Wales."
Donald Clay subsequently changed his name to Beardmore.

George's brother wrote that -
George moved to Wales, never finding his feet there. He and his adoring wife sold their house to buy a boat and motor down to the Med. He was persuaded to invest in a DIY shop instead. With his sales ability and his wife's organisation, he built up a great business and moved to Spain. His wife developed cancer and they moved back to London and the shop. He employed two nurses for his wife. After Angela's death George and one of the nurses (Carol) set up together and eventually married.
George married Angela Maria Wheeler c1958. Angela was born c1940 and died in 1980.
Angela was adopted into the Wheeler family and claimed Italian roots. She was a fair-skinned blonde.
